This beautiful luminary is wheel thrown and wood fired. It features dark silhouettes of cacti in the desert under the warm glow of a starlit night. Both the inside and outside are unglazed. Wood ash is deposited in the firing and creates a glaze of its own. The colors on wood fired pieces can vary depending on where they are placed in the kiln (high or low, close to the fire or away from it, and what’s next to them). No two pieces come out looking alike.
