Luminary | Cacti II - Wood Fired
This beautiful luminary is wheel thrown and wood fired. It features dark silhouettes of cacti in the desert in black underglaze and is punctuated with small and large circles and stars to create the warm glow of a starlit night. Both the inside and outside are unglazed. The colors on wood fired pieces can vary depending on where they are placed in the kiln (high or low, close to the fire or away from it, and what’s next to them). Wood ash is deposited in the firing and creates a glaze of its own. No two pieces come out looking alike.
