This wheel-thrown sake set captures the quiet beauty of hand-painted dandelions against a setting sun. Each piece is crafted from porcelain and wood-fired. The inside is glazed with a soft green Oribe glaze and the outside was left unglazed resulting in warm peachy-tan flashing and subtle ash deposits that make this set truly one-of-a-kind.
The set includes one tokkuri (sake carafe) and two guinomi (cups), each adorned with delicate ginkgo silhouettes that stand in striking contrast against the soft, textured surface. The wood firing process creates natural variations in color and sheen—organic markings that can’t be replicated, only discovered.
Please note - One of the cups fell over during firing because of a collapsed shelf which caused the glaze to pool on the side of the cup. It miraculously survived intact and is completely safe to use.
