These beautiful cups are wheel thrown and wood fired. They feature hand painted ginkgo leaves in black underglaze. They are lined with a blue green glaze on the inside and are left unglazed on the outside. The The colors on wood fired pieces can vary depending on where they are placed in the kiln (high or low, close to the fire or away from it, and what’s next to them). Wood ash is deposited in the firing and creates a glaze of its own. No two pieces come out looking alike.
